Partner Firm Information

The Venture Fellows program is a partnership between select McCombs MBA students and the venture capital community.  The program provides students an opportunity to work with leading venture capital and private equity firms to gain operational insight while providing the Partner Firm with real economic value.

Fellows Placement Process

After a rigorous application process and acceptance into the program, Fellows are matched through an interview process with Partner Firms.

Roles & Responsibilities

The specific roles and responsibilities of each Fellow vary by Partner Firm depending on current needs.  Selected areas where Fellows have added value to Partner Firms in the past include: business plan review, market research, financial modeling, competitive due diligence, portfolio company projects, marketing plan development, and fund raising.

Fellows are expected to work 10 – 15 hours per week with their Partner Firm.  Although Fellows are interested in venture capital or private equity as a potential career, the Venture Fellows program operates under no expectation of summer or full-time employment.  This does not, however, prevent Fellows from attaining roles as summer interns or full-time employees.
